Logs should be placed on the ground in a shaded area protected from the sun and wind where it will receive natural rainfall. To maintain moisture, water the logs every week if there has been no rainfall. 

Watch your logs closely during the fruiting season as they fruit spontaneously and quickly. When mushrooms start fruiting, mist them with water once or twice daily to prevent them from drying out. Your mushrooms are typically ready for harvest after 2-3 days. It is best to harvest mushrooms while the caps are still curled down before spore release.

Twist the mushrooms off at the base where they meet the log.

 Oyster mushrooms contain bioactive compounds that are believed to have medicinal properties, such as boosting the immune system, lowering cholesterol, and providing anti-inflammatory benefits.

Sautée, Stir Fry, Roast or Grill. Cook until they are golden brown and crispy. They can also be added to a  soup or broth.
