Nayeema Farms Mushroom Log Care Instructions:
Outdoor Care: Logs should be placed on the ground in a shaded area protected from the sun and wind where it will receive natural rainfall. To maintain moisture, water the logs every week if there has been no rainfall.
Indoor Care: Logs should be placed in a shallow dish of water to keep them moist. They must be out of direct sunlight. Occasional home lighting is okay. Logs were raised in an outdoor nursery and may have small bugs. Rinse logs with a moderately pressured hose or submerge the logs in a bath of cold water for 20-30 minutes to remove the critters.
Watch your logs closely during the fruiting season as they fruit spontaneously and quickly. When mushrooms start fruiting, mist them with water once or twice daily to prevent them from drying out. Your mushrooms are typically ready for harvest after 2-3 days. It is best to harvest mushrooms while the caps are still curled down before spore release.
